A couple of things I don’t like about the new default theme are:

    - There’s no easy way of changing the menu colors (unless it can be done via the CSS)

    - Man, this is really archaic, they still have the following at the bottom of the comments box:

    You may use these HTML tags and attributes: <a href="" title=""> <abbr title=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <cite> <code> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q cite=""> <strike> <strong>

LOL, the above belongs in the Smithsonian institute.

I changed all the colors through the CSS. Took some time but it turned out looking exactly the way I wanted.

Easily customizable colors may be a worthwhile idea. I think it'd be interesting to do on the API level so all themes could benefit, like custom headers and custom backgrounds.

The comment-related text you quoted isn't actually part of the theme. See here: http://core.trac.wordpress.org/browser/trunk/wp-includes/comment-template.php

How do I get rid of that comment-related text? Please walk me through it--I'm new to this!
