I’m a relative newbie to wordpress and have been working to set up a website for a friend. Initially, I had a problem with the nav bar wrapping, which I think I have now fixed. Now I am concerned that the page itself is still much too narrow and I am not sure how to adjust the page width.

Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.

I am using a twenty-eleven child theme and I think this came about after I was playing with the showcase feature for posts, which I decided I did not like and then attempted to revert to the prior settings.

Alos, I did migrate over from wordpress.com — not sure if that would be part of the problem or not.

    Website is: http://wyattelevator.com/

    Thanks!

    Pete

Of course after having spent nearly two hours trying to figure out what was wrong, I realized minutes after posting what it was.

In the theme option, I had changed the default layout options from content on left to no sidebar, which apparently through all of the padding off. Hopefully someone else can learn from my mistake!

EDIT: “threw all of the padding off”

What is wrong with the width?

Actually it is often recommended that the page shouldn’t be too wide — since many screens are narrow and a wide page causes problems.

(perhaps I am looking after you already fixed the width?)
