Not that I’m aware of but I’ll ask a couple of people who may know better.
esmi,
Thank you. I just wanted to see what it looked like, on my own site. I was guessing that Twenty Eleven will be updated to a new version number when WordPress 3.4 comes out since it will still be, the Default Theme.
I’ve put out a call re getting hold of an updated version of Twenty Eleven but, tbh, I don’t think you’re going to see any major changes. It’s been a really popular theme and there’s a definite appreciation of just how many users will have gone down the child theme route. So care will be taken to avoid any breakages for them.
Added to which, there’s a new default theme in the pipeline – Twenty Twelve. I don’t think it will be ready for 3.4 but it’s still going to be the focus for any juicy new features rather than the existing default theme.
If you’re comfortable with using SVN, I would recommend pulling from here:
http://core.svn.wordpress.org/trunk/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/
It is the easiest way to download the trunk/bleeding-edge version of Twenty Eleven.
Hi Esmi,
If you were to download the beta would it not include the revised theme, but if theme functions change ………?
I read about flexible headers, theme preview and selecting headers and backgrounds from media gallery, but not much on theme style changes, more functional.
Regards
David

I checked my beta and it’s still shipping with Twenty Eleven 1.3, so I’m assuming that it’s not the latest version. And, yes, there’s a lot of nice new theme features coming out but whilst the new custom background & header functions might be added to Twenty Eleven, it will still support the older deprecated functions for the time being.
esmi,Chip Bennett,Digital Raindrops,
Thank all of you for responding so quickly! It’s appreciated.
I’ve already installed Twenty Twelve from GitHub, but I just wanted to have a look at how Twenty Eleven had “improved”.
Mr. Bennett, thank you for that link to “using SVN”. I’ll read it.
I just checked the latest beta. It still doesn’t have the updated custom header/background code. But, the updated custom header/background code *is* in trunk in SVN. Have a look!
