    I apologise in advance as I know loads of people are posting about different versions of this problem but when using the Twenty Eleven theme with the Showcase template the sidebar always appears at the bottom regardless of whether it's empty or I add widgets.

    I read as many other posts as I could find but I'm none the wiser on how to solve it, here is the link:

    http://www.simontayloranimation.com/wp/

    "Home" only has the vimeo embed code on it and "Test" is to show that even with just a blank page with some text it still has this problem.

    I don't know much about editing html so this has all been done with just the basic tools (ie using the "Visual" page editing tab not "HTML").

    All the best and thanks in advance :-)

    what sidebar?

    at the moment, with what little content there is, the page looks ok.

    can you check the showcase with some recent posts and some widgets?

    Hi, sorry hopefully it's clearer now, I've added a calendar widget so you can see what I mean. Thanks for replying so quickly :-)

    that is the intended design of the showcase template;
    (you might be able to see this in this link from wp.com: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/06/06/new-theme-twenty-eleven/twentyelevenshowcase-2/ )

    the page content will stretch the full width across the top;
    below it, there will be the sidebar on the left, with the recent posts list (which you don't have) to the right of it.

    ------------------------------
    |page content.................|
    |                             |
    -------------------------------
    | side | recent posts         |
    | bar  |                      |
    |      |                      |
    -------------------------------

    Ahhh ok, thank you! I guess I just got confused with it still being called a "side" bar.

    Thanks for your help :)
