[resolved] Twenty Eleven - make page (default template) full width (5 posts)

    Hi

I'm new to wordpress and have used WP-tables reloaded plugin to create a table. I've placed this table on a page (default template)in my test blog at
    http://www.rathmullancottages.com/blog/page-test/

How do I make the table wider as I can only seem to get it to occupy a relatively narrow central section of the page. I'd like the table to be almost full width

ps - it appears full width if I choose the showcase template but there is a grey background and related posts below (which I don't want)

Hoping someone can help with this

    Regards
    Brian

please start by creating a child theme http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

do not edit Twenty Eleven directly, as you will lose the customisations with your next upgrade.

then read the related forum topic: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/twenty-eleven-theme-page-width?replies=3

    Thanks alchymyth

As suggested, i added the code to my style.css and now the table appears full width

the more important suggestion is to work with a child theme.

    Yes, thanks again

I now realise importance of child theme. I'm experimenting at the moment and plan to build site next week and I will definitely be using a child theme

    Regards
    Brian
