twenty eleven custom background image (4 posts)

Although I'm able to change bg color and image in theme options I need to have a site-wide scalable background that's responsive but retains aspect ratio and aligns to bottom.

I can imagine what the css declarations should look like BUT cannot find an existing selector to which it readily attaches...

(I'm using a child theme on a local server)

    Any advice?
    Thanks in advance.

The CSS selector may be body, what selectors have you tried?

    It definitely isn't body, #main or #page.
Was looking for a "wrapper" maybe?

I'm not prepared to venture into the templates to go and fetch a pre-existent selector that really should be in the css...

And it turns out there aren't straight answers elsewhere on the forum. Most people are satisfied to set this in theme options but occasionally one needs more.
