[twenty eleven] centering a widget in the footer

Hi there

I have done loads of searches and tried loads of suggestions to do this but I can’t seem to do anything that makes any difference to the widget in my footer.

I have a single custom menu in my footer. It sits very far to the left. I would like to centre it, at least roughly, and keep the text justified to the left if possible, though not essential.

All the fixes I have tried have made no impact whatsoever. I am using twenty eleven via a child theme,
