Tutorial for new image uploading system? (12 posts)

I host my own WP site, as well as a few others for some close friends. I recently upgraded everything to WP 2.0, and personally love it. I think the changes are great, and so do they. However, I don't think the majority of them tend to play around with it much, and having seen a few posts I think they like the new image uploading system, but aren't aware of a lot of the options (case in point: one person's recent post involved a number of pics in a post. They have the pics there, but they are full sized but scaled down [thumbnails?], and don't link to the full sized pic.)

I'm trying to find some sort of help doc or something that I could give them that would give an overview of the new image uploading method, some of the tips and trick's etc. Is there an official WordPress.org one somewhere? You'd think for something so drastically different from before, there would be, but I'm not seeing it. Heh, I really don't want to redo one myself if it's already out there :-P. Thanks!

I would have expected it to be here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Images

I guess one of us could write it :).

Hrm, interesting. I found some video tutorials online earlier, and they seem good, but cluttered and I don't think my friends want to sit and watch a bunch of flash videos. Perhaps I'll take some screenshots tonight and write up my own....if it turns out I could post it here!

I have been struggling with this myself. I have found the only way to get the full scale photo is to go into the html and delete the .thumbnail part of the name. Is that the only way? Is there no way to edit the properties of an image?

Click on the image (left click) after you've uploaded it and check out the popup menu.

Oh, I see...duh. The "using thumbnail" is clickable off and on. I get it.

Did I mention I bleach streaks of my hair blonde? That must be it.

nmallory - I know there are problems. That's why I made the flash file at the link I posted. If people are following that and getting different results we need the devs to know. While posting instructions is okay, the sort of file I did leaves no doubt.

If I didn't already have a fever, my cheeks would be as red as my hair in embarrasment. :)

    Hey Podz - that's a nifty video!

nmallory - don't sweat it. I think it took me 3 or 4 tries before I thought to actually click on the picture. :-)

...hence the need for a document or tutorial or something. For so many good [NEW] features, it seems odd that there isn't a wordpress supported document telling about all of these features, and how they are intended to be used!

Well, here's an update....I put together a few screenshots and did a quick run-thru. Hopefully it helps my friends, and whoever else stumbles on it!
