Turn off web.config modification by WordPress (2 posts)

    Hi,

I uploaded a new installation of WordPress 3.1.1 to an IIS 7 server. I added the rewrite rules to the web.config and it works perfectly. This is MY rewrite rule:

[Code moderated as per the Forum Rules. Please use the pastebin]

But whenever I visit the Permalinks settings page (/wp-admin/options-permalink.php), it messes up my web.config with a rewrite rule that doesnt work! This is rewrite rule generated by wordpress:

[Code moderated as per the Forum Rules. Please use the pastebin]

How can I turn this off?? My wordpress is installed in a sub-dir like site.com/blog2 and I already have another wordpress installation at site.com/blog1 but I dont get this problem there! I've also tried setting the file attribute of the web.config file to 644 but even then WordPress manages to edit the file!!

Any sort of help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
