Alright, so my question is a relatively simple one, and probably has a very obvious answer, but I am not handy with wordpress nor did I develop the site in question. I am at a loss and cannot find relevant help in the forums. I am doing some assistant work for an artist-- just some simple editing and copy/paste work on his website-- and he's having some trouble figuring out why some thumbnail images linking to sub-pages are not showing up.

Why the "Privacidad" link does not feature an image. The woman who built his website left some instructions on how to do very basic editing, but all she said on this topic was that "the first image that you upload [onto a sub-page] will be the representative thumbnail on the parent page." However, I have tried uploading images and they still do not show up.
The same issue comes up here: http://redtrilliumpress.com/mis-amigo/
(With the Los estudiantes de artes page)
I am just perplexed because there seems to be no obvious way to manually sepecify that an image will be the thumbnail. As I see it, the parent page is currently using "[list_subpage_images child_of='449' sort_column='menu_order']" to create a list that automatically picks the thumbnail images from a page. Is there something that I'm missing? How can I assure that an image will show up as a thumbnail on the parent page?
Thank you.
