   Sometimes I want to comment on another blog and I'm required to select a profile by the blog. I want to comment using my WordPress profile & need to provide my WordPress username to complete the URL: http://<username>.wordpress.com. Simple enough, right? Except that the username I provide doesn't work - I instead get a message that says I need to login to wordpress. I have a feeling I don't know my username. My Website on WordPress was set up for me by a 3rd party developer.

   How do I discover my username for this purpose - or is there something else I might be doing wrong when I try to use my WordPress profile to comment on someone else's blog?

   Do you have an account on wordpress.com?

   Your account HERE (on .org) and your account on your own site have nothing to do with .com :)

   I'm new to this as you will see . I'm trying to post a comment on a website hosted with the help of wp , not sure if I should key the name of the website in . I can't log in even tho I seem to be logged in here and I'm not logged in at this site I'm talking about . Hope u can help , Ipstenu , or someone . I wont' turn this into a rant about how much time I have spent getting nowhere with wp . It's funny , I'm logged in here even tho I've tried to log off twice by turning off my computer . How do I log off ? Other forums have turned nasty very quickly , let's see if this one is any different .

   Good morning! How are you doing? ;) This is a volunteer forum, meaning that we're just like you. If you get a reply (like this one) then that person is genuinely trying to be helpful.

   I'm not being factious, but have you read the link posted above? There's often a lot of confusion about the differences between this place and WordPress.COM.

   Accounts HERE have no relationship with any other blogs. You can't use a WordPress.ORG account to post comments on blogs.

   Now, if you have a WordPress.COM account, and you log in to that, you can leave comments on other WordPress.COM blogs. That's done all the time.

   Please read that link that Ipstenu posted, it explains that this place is different and not the same as the other. The account here can't help you posts comments anywhere else.
