Trying to use Alt texts but not seeing the text (3 posts)

    Hi,

I am trying to make sure that my site is accessible to the visually impaired. I'm using the Black-LetterHead Theme. Although there is a place to enter Alternative text on the media images in dashboard, it is not appearing when you hover over on the actual site itself.

Ideas on what the problem may be?

    Hello,

Alt text is not meant to be shown on mouse over on the image (although some browsers like IE may show it). Alt is shown when the image is not loaded. You can see more info here:

If you're targeting visually impaired, writing the image description in the alternative text area is the right way to do it!

Thanks Karine. I will go ahead and fill in the Alt Text box and assume it will work for the visually impaired.
