Trying to prevent Facebook likes delivered as comments (with 2.8) (2 posts)

The "Likes" are coming from Facebook, and started after upgrading to 2.8 (in fact on thesame post, I had a like from just before the update that did not get turned into comments, but a like right after the upgrade did). The comment gets automatically approved, even if I've unapproved them previously.
    The comment says:
"Jane Smith liked this on Facebook."

Jane Smith is the FB name with a link to the user profile page. Also, there is an email address attached to the comment:
    facebook.###@example.com
Where "###" is the person's FB user ID.

That doesn't seem like an email from FB, as I don't think FB would use example.com for even anon routing, but I could be wrong.

There doesn't seem to be any setting to disable this, though I do have "comments" from Facebook enabled, there is no mention of this functionality for likes.

The FAQ mentions edits you can make to add something like this, but I have not made any edits (and couldn't find that code block when I went searching).

Is this a bug or a feature? Is there a way to turn this off without turning off all comments?

I posted a similar question three months ago regarding the calculation the number of replies... I like having the "likes" show up, but I would prefer that they not be counted as comments on my blog.

I haven't received a reply yet, but thought it would be worthwhile to link our questions since they are related.
