    Hi!

I've just downloaded the latest WP, followed your 5 minute installation.
I open http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php after I set up a db called "wordpress". I updated wp-config.php file with the correct information.

I entered blog title and my email, hit "Install WordPress". Then my apache shuts down (instead of green play sign -> red dot), and wp alerts I need to open a file called wp-login.php.

After that peculiar behavior, I reloaded the page and hit "Install WP" again. This time it shows this:

You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.

I tried logging in using login.php, but I've never received a password nor username, and when I try "forgot your password?" I get prompted again to open a file.

I already have a running apache, so I don't need xampp.

My question is regarding why the server fails when I try to install/login.
