Hello. I have just created a new website and waiting for it to appear on Google. Meanwhile I cannot get rid of seemingly confidential detail on the right hand side of the page - particularly stuff under the Heading 'META' (have not a clue what that word means). Detail such as:
META
Site Admin
Log Out
XFN
Valid XHTML
WordPress
The final word is the only one I understand and have successfully used...
When this site goes public wont everybody be able to see this stuff?
Log in and change password etc?
I am not computer literate and making this site through Fat Cow seemed dead easy until I came to the above mentioned problem... Hope someone can help me Thanks

log in admin panel click on Appearance >>>Widgets and drag a widget to Primary sidebar if you have one and you will see that those links will be gone.
You can drag and arrange widgets as you wish from left

No. It did not work. I chose 'Appearance' then 'Widget' and got a list of Widgets but all to ADD whereas I am trying to remove stuff. I can drag a 'no entry' road sign (circle with a slash) acros but since there is nothing listed in the Sidebar it has no effect. There is also a list of 'Available Widgets' but nothing relevant.
Perhaps I am not doing it right?
If when you drag a widget on sidebar does not replace what you have at present then most likely it hard codded in your sidebar.php
I just clicked on url I do not see the side bar
the default twenty ten theme that comes with WordPress has some hardcoded widgets in the sidebar which will appear if you don't select anything.
Thus to remove them, you need to add something blank.
