   Hi
   I've accidentally uploaded the wrong photo to a post and am trying to delete it so I can insert the correct one.
   It seems I have to delete the entire post and start again by reposting which then puts that post at the top which isn't where I want it to be!
   Any suggestions?

   Locate the image via Media -> Library and select "Delete Permanently".

   Thanks but I did this and the entire has vanished. I just want to take out the photo and reinsert a new one.

   Just edit the relevant post and remove the reference to the image.

   in your post edit mode visual click on the image and click on delete icon

   Thanks again but it will not allow me to do either of these!
   @esmi - the reference to the image is ghosted and I cannot delete it.
   @govpatel - in edit post mode I only have the code for the photo which I have deleted from the post's text but the photo still appears.
   Any more suggestions?

   Just thought I'd let you know I went to: all posts, trash, restore. The photo was not attached to it. Perfect! Sounds so easy when you know what you're doing.
