Trying to Achieve this type of menu feature

    hello all:

    I am trying to achieve an image-in-menu look like this:

    I have been using the li identifiers with :hover, however the problem is that the image is the same height as the li element, and if I make this tall enough for the image then the space between li is too great.

    What I want is for the images to be in the same spot, but only the currently hovered item’s image to show
