I’m experiencing trouble with my WP Media Uploader. When I try to upload an image, I get this error message. “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.”

Last week my site was hit hard with this brute force attack. My database did go down but was then restored and repaired. Everything seemed to work fine until I went to post images for an article I’m about to post.

I did try to deactivate all plugins and reactivate. It didn’t change anything.

    Would appreciate your help!

    Heidi

  • Are you getting any javascript errors? You can use firefox with firebug to check this or chrome browser.

No, no js errors. I finally had to reinstall WP.

I tried to reinstall WP but got this message:

Warning: copy(/home/user/public_html/wp-includes/images/crystal/video.png) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/hafwebnd/public_html/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 200

Warning: copy(/home/user/public_html/wp-includes/images/crystal/video.png) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/user/public_html/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 200

    Could not copy file.: /home/user/public_html/wp-includes/images/crystal/video.png

    Installation Failed

I found that my crystal folder was corrupt so my host locked it down where I couldn’t access. Once that folder was deleted, I reinstalled WP again. Now my problem is solved.
