Trouble tranfering from a .com to a .org

    Everything I’ve read on the codex makes intuitive sense, but I keep getting stuck on transferring the domain information. I need to keep the same URL, and so I need to update the domain information. This document seems to be the key, but I can’t find “domain administration anywhere on there, or anything else it’s talking about.

    I have my new hosting service with wordpress installed on the new domain (of the same URL), I have the content exported from my old .com site, and now I just need to be able to sign into my new .org site when I go to flashyreview.org/wp-admin.

    Can anyone help?

    Did you use your own domain name on your wordpress.com site?

    I am having the same issue… I had a domain name on my wordpress.com site… It wont let me go to admin page…. Keeps saying something about domain mapping and log in and it redirects me to the wordpress.com sign in.

    BTW my old wordpress site is still up and has defaulted back to kbryantimagesblog.wordpress.com

    I have checked on flashyreview.org and it was not yet registered. Can you verify the spelling of your domain?

    Yes, we paid for the upgrade so that we could be flashyreview.com and not have the “wordpress” in our url.

    I registered the new domain on my hosting service as “flashyreview.com”, what I meant was that I wanted to use it as a wordpress.org site instead of wordpress.com.

    Thanks you two for stomaching my ignorance! I’ll post if/when I figure it out.
