Trouble logging into WordPress admin after installation

Hi all

I have been using WordPress for quite sometime now. I have recently started a new wordpress site on a new server, I carry out the installtion as I always have done, however when it comes to logging into the WordPress admin area I have face with the following error which is contained in a pop-up box with entries for a username and password

A user name and password are being requested by http://mydomain The site says: “Private Access”

I have entered my domain password, my SQL database password, my WordPress admin password but still no luck whatsoever.

I have been using wordpress for 5 years and this is the first time I have faced this problem. I have tried to install wordpress onto other servers following this error & I’m still having this error.

Any help would be much appreciated.
