    Hi guys,
If any one can help me with this it would be much appreciated:
    1) I designed and set up a website for someone on WordPress on my server which was finished and ready to move to his hosting server
    2) Using an FTP client, I pulled all the files off from my hosting server onto my PC as a backup
    3) As instructed, I logged in and changed the urls in WordPress, Settings, General. I also uploaded the WordPress folder to the guy's server. I generally fumbled around not knowing what the hell I was doing. Got stuck, couldn't log in to my original WordPress installation. Panicked. Decided to try and get back to where I started from.
    4) In an attempt to restore the status quo, I used FTP to upload the original files back onto the original server and now all the CSS and content has disappeared. HELP!!!
    5) I can't log in to change the urls back and the guy's website now looks like this:
    http://www.bristolsouthwebdesign.com/wordpresstest/home

Any help to restore the original site would be greatly appreciated. I can attempt to move it to the new server another day once I've calmed down!
    Cheers
    Alan

Thanks for this - I went into the database directly and reinstated the original url which worked - sort of.
The homepage doesn't show up and when I go to LogIn, it comes up with 404 not found. Also, none of the CSS is linked so there is no formatting.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers
    Alan

I'm getting this link for stylesheet/theme
    http://www.bristolsouthwebdesign.com/wordpresstest/home/wp-content/themes/blank%20theme/style.css
notice the added junk between "blank" and "theme"?

    Hi Samuel
Thanks for all the help - much appreciated. I shouldn't have used /home on the end of the url...idiot.
I'll attempt to move the site another day I think. Quick question - should I set up an SQL database on the new hosting server before I upload the root folder and all the files? The instructions don't mention this.
    Cheers

you will need to set up a db just to have one to import the old db into
