I forgot the user name that I chose but I did remember the email address. This is what I tried to get a new password:

    1. I clicked on "Lost your password?" and filled in the email address. It says "Check your e-mail for the confirmation link." but I didn't receive the email (after hours of waiting and multiple tries). I checked whether something is wrong with the email address but I do receive other emails.

    2. I tried changing the password Through MySQL Command Line (as explained here http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password ) but the new password was not accepted by the login page.

    3. I tried changing the password Through phpMyAdmin (also explained at http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password ) but again the new password is not accepted by the login page

I can see the password in the wp_users table in the mysql database but the page http://benelearn2013.org/wp-login.php does not accept it (it says "ERROR: The password you entered for the username xxx is incorrect.")

What is going on? Please help me.

    I forgot the user name

You should be able to see the domain name in the users database table. It's stored in plain text. Are you ensuring that you save the new password as MD5 encrypted?

Thanks, I solved it! I forgot to select MD5 in phpmyadmin!
