Travel Collabrative

I am trying to find a way to add a plugin to my wordpress site so that people can collabratively add their own thoughts.

The site will be about travel but I want it to be so users can interact, add locations, events etc that will be discussed and voted on.

I’m thinking google wave or ideascale could fill this void but just checking there isn’t any other plugin/options to consider.
