    Hello, dear developers !

This plugin is really excellent, but I hesitate to use it for the following reason: my site is in french; the french mo file is a translation of the english po file which is not complete. The result is a plugin half french half english.

French people are severe with such things. For exemple, on my french profile page I see the term “my item listings” which is a ufo phrase and just unacceptable. Half french, half english means not a professionnal site.

The other problem is that I cant repurpose this plugin. My site is about personal development and members will list projects. So I would like to be able to translate the term “listing” into “projet”(project) and I cant do it, because this term is missing in the po file.

Please, let me know if you plan to make a complete english po file, so that I can translate it in french. It is a question of professionnal image.

    Greetings from France

    Hello,

Thank you for expressing your concern. This is the only way for us to understand the features which are most important to our users

Actually, French is very important to us. In fact, our changelog will demonstrate french specific improvements within the last few days. We are also in discussions with native french speakers to help with translation, compared to using a translator

BePro Listings is constantly expanding. Our changelog reflects upgrades on average by-weekly. You are right, we have struggled to keep up with the translations under such rapid expansion.

Our team is based in Canada. Although none of us are French, we definitely empathize with the need for a professional image and clear communication in French.

We invite you to use our platform and join our website. You can expect more improvements dedicated to french translation within the next 5 business days. From then on, translation in general and french in specific, will be a priority.

Just an explanation: I am not focusing on bad translation. That’s not a major problem for me because I can fix it using a poedit tool. The problem is missing words. The original (english) po file, upon which the french translation is based, is not complete. It doesnt contain all the words that the plugin shows. If it were the case I could translate that file and resolve the problem. So doing good translations of this file in other languages it serves nothing. The result will be half-english, half-other language. You should remake the original po file including all the words that the plugin shows when in usage.

    Best regards

Well, I was able to translate the rest of the plugin by editing the core files and now everything is in french. I have repurposed it as well by changing some slugs. The language problem can be considered as RESOLVED. Thanks again, BeyondPrograms, for this excellent tool.

We are happy you found a solution.

Please remember to leave a review. Its the best way to share your experience and support the growth of the plugin.

    Regards
