    Hi Rob,
I had problems getting the translations done on my site. The site is originally in Swedish and primarily my users would want to translate to English or Finnish.

Should translating https-pages work out of the box? I did not for me, but then I went into the google-language-translator.php and changed all references to http://translate.google* to https://translate.google*. It worked!

Do you have any other advise on this?

And by the way, I still ahve problems with translating back to original lang. Single characters show up where words should be. Have tried both 2.6 and 2.8.

    Great plugin, thanks!

  • Hi filifjonkan, I’ve had particular issues with some shopping cart themes, but sometimes Google detects languages incorrectly and throws things off too.

Would you mind posting a link to the site in question?

    I will take a look.

In the end it’s always faster to provide access to your site on this type of issue…..you can always send a request here with user access so that I can login to your site…

    Hi Rob,

I just into the same issue with a site that is on SSL. The translate box does not work/display on https sites.

    Firebug returns the error of:
Blocked loading mixed active content “http://translate.google.com/translate_a/element.js?cb=GoogleLanguageTranslatorInit”

Going through google-language-translator.php and replacing all instances of “http://translate.google” with “//translate.google” fixes this issue.

If you could enable future releases to work for both http and https it would be much appreciated. Otherwise, the plugin runs great and thanks for developing it!

Right on, Moondrop, I see this solution now. This is fantastic catch. Thanks so much.

I will make sure this is the next update. Thanks for using the plugin.

    Rob
