Transforming WordPress into a Picture "Slideshow"

I was thinking about transforming my blog and eventually getting rid of all the “unnecessary”, stripping it down to pictures only.

So what I have been looking into was several photo websites and figured I’d want my front page as something that shows my “Newsfeed” of pictures shot with the iPhone and then all the other photo galleries I produce through regular photographing.

What I’ve been thinking about was something as shown in this picture

(on the left that’d be the iphone picture thread, on the right there are three galleries out of X which can be scrolled through).

I’d like to stay with wordpress for usability and interface and also the ability to quickly upload fotos from the phone.

Do you think this is something that can be realized with wordpress, or do I have to move away and look into other scripts?
