Transferring to host using wordpress.org

    Hello,

    I currently have a blog on wordpress.com and plan on getting my own hosting and installing wordpress.org. I hope to transfer everything smoothly and allow my readers to have the same experience once the new blog is up and running. Is there anything I should look out for in blog in terms of the theme or anything that won’t be transferable?

    You cannot transfer your theme. You will need to re-install it (if it is freely available). You should also be aware that many themes on wordpress.com have been significantly customised compared to their freely available counterparts.
