   Hello guys,

   i just ran into a problem i'm transferring a friends blog and all the files load but i cant see any post or pages.

   this is what i did

   i backup the files and database,
   open the database file and replace the old domain with the new domain,
   upload themes, plugins and uploads, to the new domain
   then import the new database (new domain was previously added)
   logged in to the administrator panel to see if everything was there (and it was)
   then i went into the site to see if the blog was working,
   it loads all menus, post and page tiles, i can click on the links and it take me to the right page, but when i do so the page shows a 404 error. and doesn't load the content.

   can someone help me with this i don't understand what is happening

   Are both installs using the same version of WordPress? Did you review Moving_WordPress?

   yes both installs are using the same version,

   i read the article you send me, also installed the find and replace plugin to look for any extra instances of the domain, but no luck ((

   Try resetting your permalinks.

   ))) THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!!

   i changed the permalinks and it gave me a message that the .htaccess was not writable so i changed the files settings and it worked ))
