[resolved] transferring from /wordpress to main directory (4 posts)

    i was trying to transfer my site from http://www.websitename.com/wordpress to http://www.websitename.com and i was following this guide http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

    unfortunately after i transferred the files everytime i go to http://www.websitename.com it gives me a redirect AND a 404 error.

    http://www.fermentingrecords.com

    Not Found
    
    The requested URL /wordpress/ was not found on this server.
    
    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    now that i see it. every thing moved to the main directory (eg: http://www.fermentingrecords.com/?page_id=5 ) but the main index aka http://www.fermentingrecords.com doesnt show

    Check the database and make sure that the siteurl and home values reference http://www.fermentingrecords.com correctly. If they don't, change them.

    If they do, try re-saving your permalink structure at Settings/Permalinks. If WordPress cannot automatically edit your .htaccess file, it will provide manual instructions after saving.

    figured it out. it was this stupid redirection plugin.
