Transferring files from localhost to new domain and server

    Hello, I’m newer at WordPress and am trying to transfer my files for a custom theme from localhost to Bluehost (domain and server). The FTP I am using is Filezilla. And bluehost uses for the database MySQL. I uploaded the sql file to MySQL and that is fine.

    The problem I am having is when I go the the site, the http://decaturforsythclassic.com/, my styles.css file is not working and when I try to go to http://decaturforsythclassic.com/wp-admin, the site redirects to my localhost wordpress login and displays the following error: “404 NOT FOUND, the requested URL/DF_Classic/wordpress/wp-login.php was not found on this server.

    Any suggestions? I could use any help I can get.

    Did you just move the theme or the whole site & database? If it’s the latter, did you review Moving_WordPress?

    I moved the whole site and database and I did review Moving WordPress, but I think I might be missing something.

    I tried renaming the database in my wp-config.php file and that did not work.

    Check every one of the steps again. You seem to have missed at least 1 step.

    Ok, I figured out why it wouldn’t let me go to the wordpress login page.

    I didn’t change the site url towards the bottom of the wp-config.php file to the http://decaturforsythclassic.com. But I’ve gotten to the login page and I’ve entered the correct username and password (even changed the password), but it won’t let me login.

    Any ideas?

    it won’t let me login.

    Do you see any messages? If not, try checking your site’s error logs for an error message. Your host should be able to help you in accessing your site’s error logs.
