• I am a complete newb and I need help. I have had a wordpress blog for a while now and I recently bought a domain through wordpress under the “upgrade” tab. Now I want to be able to customize my blog and host it on godaddy using wp2.7. How can I transfer the domain to godaddy or do I even need to? Basically I just want to be able to have the “example.com” address but be able to use wp2.7 and use custom themes etc.
    Your help is appreciated.

    Thanks

  • You don’t need to transfer the domain registration to Godaddy.
1.You do need to find, from Godaddy, what their name servers are.
    2. At wordpress.com point your domain’s name servers to the Godaddy name servers.
    3. Then wait for the domain to resolve.
    4. Then at wordpress.com you need to do Administration > Tools > Export
    5. At Godaddy you need to install WordPress (see Installing WordPRess).
    6. Then at your new blog you need to do Administration > Tools > Import > WordPress

How do I point my blog’s domain name servers to the Maiaia Name servers?!?!? HELP.
