I have a wordpress.com blog up and running and just got my own domain with wordpress.org up and running..
Is there a step by to show me how to transfer my posts from .com to .org (or my own db)?
Thanks!
P.S. would like to keep the current .css style if possible.. my .com blog is http://deesfirstflight.wordpress.com Would like it moved to http://deestraveljournal.com/wordpress
Thanks in advance!
I think you can go to the admin panel of your wordpress.com blog and EXPORT your posts and settings to an *.xml file. Stash that on your hard drive. Then set up a fresh install of WP on your new hosting account. Once it's up and running, login and IMPORT that *.xml file from your hard drive. If that's a publicly available theme, you can just grab it from the theme developer's web site and upload it to /wp-content/themes/ and activate it.
