Tracking referrer in Google Analytics

    I’m trying to track the person who sent new customers to our site. In looking at the documentation, this seems pretty easy, but I’m missing a piece.

    I’ve seen that “the easiest would be to have the referrer add a tracking ID in the querystring of the referring link”.

    Seems pretty basic, but how do I do that?

    fyi – I do already have GA installed.
