I was having trouble with "outbound" trackbacks from my site, which I found the fix for here, but for whatever reason, I can't see trackbacks to my posts in the comments. I have trackbacks/pings enabled, using WP 1.5, and nothing in moderation queue. I've attempted to trackback to one of my posts. from an external test site (http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/TestTrack), yet...still nothing...
My site: http://www.superwick.com
??? Any help is much appreciated of course. :)

something i just thought of... would this have anything to do with me having a specific Permalink structure?
currently: /archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

OK, so, I tried removing my Permalink structure, tried to trackback my very first post on my site (using http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/TestTrack/ and it still does not show up on my page that the post was referred to via Trackback...
Any clues as to what could be happening?? Or is this just a thing with WordPress (not able to see Trackbacks in your comments sections) Thanks.
I can trackback to my theme without any problems. What I found though, was that the only way i could trackback would be if the link looked like this:
http://www.mysite.com/archives/2005/3/22/postname/trackback
without that trackback at the end, it wouldn't work.

lawtai: thanks, but actually, that's the link structure I have used... still won't work. (shrug)
i'm not sure if this would even make a difference, but could it be a theme related thing? Or are trackbacks all controlled by trackback.php and have nothing to do with comments.php...

Amazingly, I just figured this out. heh. What was happening was, I had "Blacklist comments from open and insecure proxies." checked in options>discussion. This was automatically marking the trackbacks from http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/TestTrack/ as spam, so that's why I wasn't seeing them.
It wasn't until I finally figured that I should look in PHPMyAdmin to look at the comments there in the db, and there they were, all spammed-up and no place to go. :) So, I disabled that option, and hey: now they show up in the moderation queue. So there ya go....

I am having a similar problem at http://okieonthelam.com. I can trackback to someone OK, but no trackbacks in to my site show up in the comments. I just tried the "Blacklist" fix above and that didn't do it.
I have another WP 1.5 site at http://arthurbakerdesign.com and trackbacks work fine going both in and out. The Okie site was upgraded from 1.2.1 today, and it had the same problem before the upgrade, I was hoping 1.5 was going to fix it. I'm so lost now I don't really know where to start looking.

I too just tried the blacklist fix above. No go.
Being pretty much unschooled in php or ANY kind of programming, I'm now hopelessly lost.
edit: I have now succeeded in sending a pingback (or is it a trackback? - I don't really know what the difference between pb and tb) to http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/TestTrack/
but as far as I know I am still not receiving them.

I've tried a track back between two 1.5.1.2 sites that I own and nothing seems to happen. Am I doing it right?
I posted a comment on the 2nd site to refer to a post on the 1st, and I used the trackback URL on the 2nd site. If I look at the post in the admin section I can see the URL it pinged, but nothing appears on the first site. I looked in the database and I can't see anything.
The two sites are http://www.sirjohn.co.uk and http://www.seeyounextwednesday.com
I've done the same track backing to an external site (happens to be another WordPress site) and nothing happens either.
P.S. I can't seem to use the tamba2.org.uk site to test Trackbacks as I can't register to post.

I'm having this same problem also...
I'm using the manual ping tester at http://www.redalt.com/External/trackback.php to send the pings, but nothing is showing up on my site comments section.
I know I'm getting the link correct because it auto displays using this code:
'Trackback URL for this post: <?php trackback_url(); ?>'
Can anyone help?
