Is there anyway to track RSS feed subscribers and stats without using feedburner? I know wordpress.com sites offer this, but how about blogs just using the wordpress software?

This would be great.
Might want to take a look at this:

I was just curious enough about this post about this to GOOGLE the topic:

thanks whooami for the suggestion. The only drawback to fedafi is that it redirects/creates a new feed address. I guess what I'm looking for is a way to track based on my current address - changing feed addresses midstream can be tricky.
I know that feed stats is integrated into wordpress.com. Maybe this will be something new in 2.1?!!?
Hi ALTexasGirl - you can still keep using the same URL for your feed, the redirect either 301 or mod_rewrite will send people automatically to the new feed. We've got example to cut and paste into your .htaccess file on our blog and forum
I use WP-ShortStat myself for this.
This version of it -> http://blog.happyarts.de/wp-shortstat/
There's a couple of them with the same name around here. :)
Hope this helps,
