Okay.
We want to begin creating and marketing tournaments in a sport much like tennis. We want to be able to provide online registration.
Those registering could register for all combinations of:
doubles and singles play (and both)
Different levels of play (1.0 through 5.0 in 0.5 increments)
Different age groups (in five-year increments)
Once the registrations are received, the next process is to assign play-off assignments with either a round-robin elimination process or a double-elimination play-off. it would be nice to be able to post all of that on a secure site with registration required.
Eventually, it would be nice to be able to maintain a points-standing for players over a season of multiple tournaments.

Also, registrants would need to be listed by gender.
You could probably gather all this inforamtion using custom forms in the pro add-on, but with regards to assigning people tournament spots you’d probably have to export the bookings to CSV and sort it out manually.
You could then post results etc. using other plugins that allow specific users to view pages.
You’d probably also want a different plugin/solution to deal with points associated with individual users/players
