I am completely new to wordpress, and website building in general, and there is so much information out there that I don't know where to start. I figured the best thing to do was to post my purpose and goal with a website.

My in-laws have moved out of country. I would like to have a website for the family to use to keep up with one another. I want something more intimate than a social networking site like Facebook.

I want one place for all of us to go and to be able to post to. Basically I want a page for each family unit to use as their own.

Is this possible? If so, is their a tutorial?

    Thanks,

    Kristen

Sure review this Site I host:

Then realize it needs to be have an admin who puts it all together...

That's a very nice idea - and yes, certainly possible. Do you already have a domain name and hosting? If so, this is a good place to start:

What you might want to do is set up a blog page for each family unit...

If you don't have a site set up yet, you might also want to consider WordPress.COM -- as that won't require as much technical back-end work for you (or whoever) to maintain and take care of the site. (If you're okay with that, great! And then you're good to go.)

    EDIT - that's really nice, Seacoast :).

I have a site, already set up, with wordpress installed. I'm already tinkering with how themes work.

Thanks for the link. I'll give it a gander!

All right, I made an assumption that it is harder than it is. Or maybe I underestimated myself. Either way, got it, thanks!
