Total number of words in a post

Hmm. The first plugin didn’t work either. I mean, it works, but it’s still giving me the total words for all posts and I just want the total number of words in a single post.

I’m trying to put the code in my single.php page to pull up the total number of words for each individual post. Unless I’m missing something, there’s no way to do that with this plugin. I’m stumped.

Thanks! That one seems to be working but the word count seems to be a bit off and I’m not sure why. I wonder if it counts the words in the title too and any other words on the page, or just the words in the actual post content?

I must not be able to count then. It’s working and that’s good enough for me. Thanks for the help! I’ve looked all afternoon for a plugin to do this one simple thing.
