    I have register hosting with Godaddy. I'm using their Web Builder software. I do NOT know coding of any sort, including PHP. However, I read instructions pretty well and can usually follow you guys who do know this stuff. My hosting supports PHP (version 4.3.1) and MySQL. I have unzipped and uploaded all the files to my host account. I created my database with my host and input the correct host/user/pw in the wp-config.php file. When I try to install WordPress, my browser says the page cannot be found. I'm at a loss. Can someone walk me thru this?

    Have you first gone through the /wp-admin/setup-config.php script?
    Also, what happens if you try to use phpinfo()?
    To do so, create a plain text file, call it phpinfo.php and in that file put the following...

    <?php phpinfo(); ?>

    Save that file and upload it to your website as an ascii file. Then open that file in your webbrowser.
    If that doesn't work at all, you might need to get in touch with your host. If it does work, we can progress a little further from there.

    i'm having a similar problem as txamOsul.. i changed the config.php and then uploaded, but then getting an error establishing the database... i was told by GoDaddy that i used the right host, user, and password, but that's all they would say.. phpinfo.php is working so i kno i have a database setup, just can't connect to it or something..?

    phpinfo will not tell you about a database being correctly set up or not.
    Do you have a cpanel where you can check the db_name ?

    i checked GoDaddy.com's cpanel and i used the correct db_name (under "host name" it says mysql11.secureserver.net)

    OK, I've worked and worked at this thing. Again, using godaddy hosting, with phpadmin for the database.
    The database is created, but no tables; I assume that WP is suppose to create the tables for me.
    I really don't know what else to say. I've followed every direction from WP to the minute detail.
    If one of the admins of this board would like to email me, I would consider giving you access to my godaddy account to see if you could figure this out. I would like to use WP as it seems to be rich in utilities over that of some others I've investigated. email: james@texasrebel.com
