Top Level Categories and Category Links

    I apparently don’t know how to use Top Level Categories plugin or how category links work.

    I don’t have anything set for the category base for my permalink setting. I understand default category links are:

    mydomain.com/category/whatevercategoryname

    I’m trying to make these to:

    mydomain.com/whatevercategoryname

    I’m using Top Level Categories plugins that’s supposed to do exactly this. However, the links are not redirecting and it leads nowhere.

    I’ve tried resetting all plugins and switching themes and neither helped.
