TOp and Bottom menu color change in Squirrel Theme

    Hello there!
    I attempting to change the color of the top and bottom menus (currently blue) on the free version of the WordPress theme Squirrel to a purple-ish color. I have tried serval different methods and nothing has yet worked for me. Can some one advise me on what to do or what I am doing wrong? Much appreciated.

    To Accomplish:
    Change color of menu from blue to #818085
    Theme:
