Toolbox gallery links to infinite loop attachment page (5 posts)

    Heyo,

My gallery page is generating the wrong links to attachment pages, and the new links make a redirect loop.

I've been using the latest version of WordPress and a Toolbox child theme, but even plain Toolbox has the trouble. Even with plugins disabled, and even with my .htaccess (which was full of extra gunk) renamed to generate a new one.

The links it generates look like this:

    /portfolio/attachment/name-of-item/#main

This, on the other hand, works, but I can't figure out where the #main is coming from and I can't remove it from the dialog box, either (it seems to revert)

    /portfolio/attachment/name-of-item

I haven't dug through the code yet, but since it's having trouble on a fairly vanilla-esque install, I thought I'd check here in case others are having issues, too.

also, FWIW, this didn't happen on my localhost MAMP install; live server is LAMP, though I don't have many more details than that right now.

Found the problem: it was my custom permalink structure: something I hadn't done on my local installation.

I had been using this -> /%category%/%postname%/ ... mind you, it works just fine with other themes. But I'll switch to just /%postname%/ for now since that works.

Thanks for following up on this post – I was coming across the same problem and this is an okay workaround. If someone has a reason/fix that'd be great. I think toolbox has a github page, so maybe it's worth a bug report.

Hi Andrew, for what it's worth, switching my permalink structure did end up causing some broken links. I didn't remember this until just now and that's probably why I've had 404s in my analytics ;-p So, I'd say leave your permalink structure and see if there's some other fix. Good luck!
