Too Much Space Around Facebook Like Box? (6 posts)

    Newbie dummy here.

    I want to place a Facebook like box in the text body of my about page only, not in a sidebar and not on the rest of the site.

    I got the generated iframe code from Facebook developer page, inserted it in the text editor, and it looks good, except there is all this extra space below it, causing the rest of the text to appear way furthur down the page.

    I tried switching to visual editor, deleting empty line by line until it looked right, but it still shows empty space when published.

    I was hoping someone could explain what's causing this, is there a simple fix, or at least show me where to find the problem code and how to adjust it, and, will this affect the rest of the site too?

    Sincerely and Thanks,

    photojimsf

    This is just a guess, but I would suspect this is where your problem starts:

    <div class="fluid-width-video-wrapper" style="padding-top: 142.857%;">

    Oh thank you!

    I guessed that also when I right clicked the "inspect element" option, I'm using Chrome as my browser.

    I'm wondering what that is, and how it got on my site? And why did it wrap itself around my facebook like box, it's not a video.

    Where on the wp-admin interface to find and change and/or remove that particular snippet?

    And will it change the entire site, or just that page?

    Do I need to create a child theme before I do whatever? (I'm having so much difficulty with child theme too, I'll have to post a new thread on that...)

    I'm not sure where it came from, but it's an inline style and wrapped inside of 'p' tags, so my guess is it was something you might have copied and pasted into the page along with the iframe code? Open the About page in the editor, switch to HTML mode, and I suspect you'll see the code for the div. There may also be an error in your iframe source that's preventing the framed content from showing: src="//www.facebook.com/

    If you fix that first so the iframed content shows, then you can tell how much you may need to adjust the top padding.

    Greetings and thank-you's.

    I checked the about page in html editor, and that snippet of code:

    <div class="fluid-width-video-wrapper" style="padding-top: 142.857%;">

    does not appear.

    the source code looks like this:

    src="//www.facebook.com/plugins/likebox.php?

    there's much more after that starting on the next line of code. Should I delete plugins/likebox.php? and anything after that?
