• I’m trying gor the last few weeks to find a solution to recieve data from YouTube (such as views count, video length or video thumbnail).

I found several plugins such as WPVideo (who can NOT recieve views count from YouTube) or MyTube (which is very hard to understand plus it is “NOT open source software”).

My problem is that I have a lot of videos in YouTube and I want to display each in a post (not automated – I will insert the neccesseary link).

In each posy I want to display the video length and views count (from YouTube). With that, I want to use the thumbnail from YouTube and view count in my Blog’s Video Archive (NOT A GALLERY!).

To do the above, I need API (as I read on You Tube Developer something…). But I can’t use the xmlrpc.php (my server isn’t allowing me).

Is there anyone who can help me PLEASE ???? Isn’t there a simple way to recieve that data, only by having the You Tube video’s ID?

HELP!!! PLEASE! It’s very frutrating …

Have you tried reading the YouTube API documentation?

If a plugin doesn’t exist to do this, then you have to write your own or find somebody to write it for you.

Can you refer me to YouTube API documentation?

I have a self-hosted wordpress blog, and my host disable me to work with xmlrpc.php, so I can’t get an API key to even try and build a plugin. So I tried to start understanding the Developers thing, but could’nt continue.
