    Hi there,

I ran an SEO check via Bing and it showed that I have multiple h1 tags on each page because for some reason every section such as main menu, and every heading for the sidebar is also a h1, as well as title.

Can someone advise how to change this so that only the correct item remains with the h1 tag, and the others can be changed to h2 or whatever.

    site is http://www.rachelluciegallery.co.uk

    Thanks
    Rachel

It’s not necessarily bad to have multiple “h1” elements on a page.

    Spun uses HTML5.
In HTML5 you can have multiple “h1” elements on a page as long as they address different sections of the webpage. See this article explaining more http://html5doctor.com/the-section-element/

I’ve yet to see anything official by Google saying multiple “h1” elements are bad.

    ah, ok, thanks Andrew 🙂

I will ignore Bing – as you say, they are labelling specific parts of the theme.
