• Great plugin.

The big graphic showed the day sun covered by cloud at 9pm at night. The small graphic for today’s forecast showed correct night situation. Sunset time in widget is 5:52 pm. Now at 9:30 pm the big graphic has changed to night situation.

This dependency between the two graphics made me think the widget was not working correctly – assumed it was today’s weather plus a 2 day forecast – tomorrow and next day.

Was a bit confused by the 2 day forecast – Roger on Yahoo API issue.

Please make this issue clear on the plugin page on WordPress.org.

Tried to make this issue clear on our website using widget’s Title.

Ran into these problems using the widget’s title feature.

a). Changes / forces lower case title into uppercase
b). Whatever you put in the Title area is overwritten the next time
you go in to widget area – by the default: “Local Weather” which
is then changed to “LOCAL WEATHER”
c). If the title text is too long it goes on to a new line –
understand sidebar panel constraints. Can the wrapped second line
be closer to the first line of the title text? It looks as if the
first is adrift from the second.

Question: Can you pick up forecast info from some other source for an additional 2 or 3 days? A five day outlook is great.

Your widget is tops. Can also see that you are very committed to supporting the users of your widget.

    Thanks a ton.

    Hi,

Thanks for your support. Yahoo provides only two days forecast in its API and one of them is current day forecast. So you have today’s forecast andthe forecast for tomorrow. It’s the way Yahoo provides its data and here, right now, there’s nothing to do. We are working on a version which will include more days, but it’s still WIP.

If you’re using a caching plugin, the main image may be cached and it could cause a delay in displaying the actual time of the day correctly. If not, you could send us a link so we can look into it.

As for the layout issues you mention, Alfie WP Weather has no control over how titles look, but it’s your theme that manages text transformation and any design aspect, so there’s nothing to do with the plugin. You could edit your theme’s widget title rules in style.css or whatever styling sheet your theme uses to display the titles the way you like.

    Best regards.
    The Alfie Team
