   I am a complete web beginner, strictly non-techie and forum newbie, so be gentle, please!

   I am setting up a business web-site, want to have a blog to discuss relevant issues and I'm being quoted horrendous prices by developers for building a blog as part of the site. I wonder if WordPress might be the solution but am finding the language, even on the WP web-site, a bit impenetrable.

   Here's what I want the blog to do:

   Be hosted as part of my site (or in same place);
   Be accessible from my main web-site;
   Have the same look, colour-scheme, banner etc as main site;
   Be searchable by web-site visitors looking for articles on a particular topic;
   Be easy to use and manage by the complete beginner, non techie writing the articles (ie. me)!

   Can anyone help or point me in the direction of help?

   Ultimately, wordpress CAN do all this. Whether you can do it by yourself or will need a bit of outside help is probably going to be an issue. The install is pretty easy, have you taken a look at that? If so, is that over your head or do you think you'd be able to manage?

   If you want to make WP seamless with your site - which IS possible - you'll need to edit some of the files and you may not understand how if you're a complete newbie.

   The good news is, updating and editing via WP is usually pretty easy for even the amateurs. It's just the set up and install that can be a hassle.

   Do you have a site set up already? For some, it's easier to start customizing WP and work the rest of the site into that rather than the other way around.

   Thanks for your help. I have some outside help and they're confident they can handle the installation - I just wanted to be sure that it was the right product!
