[resolved] Title tags: use one for index and another for everything else? (2 posts)

In the header file, I'd like to be able to customize the index page's title, so that I've got something like:

My blog name >> Description of what it's about

(Note I'm talking about < title > in the header and not article titles)

Then on the other pages, revert back to
My blog name >> Subject name of the post

And not load it up with the description on top of the blog name/post subject

Is there a way to do this specifically for the index page and not the other pages?

Thanks in advance...I should add that I'm using the plugin Optimal Title as well.

Well, should have read through *all* the comments on the Optimal Title plugin page. The answer was within...

Just have to keep reading and scrolling, but Ozh and dju provide the perfect code for what I wanted! And I'm using 2.0.3 WP.
