• I am getting problems trying to use the Black Studio TinyMCE Widget in Page Builder.

The TinyMCE Widget doesn’t seem to save paragraphs or breaks, also any media added is not saved. Almost like not have the rich editor at all.

The layout is a little strange too with the tabs at top, it is a little odd, and always defaults to html view. This is how it looks when opened up http://kumakirin.com/junk/page1.PNG

This doesn’t seem to be an issue with the TinyMCE Widget because when you use it on the widget page, it is styled and saves correctly.

  • I have the same issue.
It saves normally the first time but then if i edit the page it’s pot luck if the formatting is retained or not.

Also it opens in HTML view by default and not visual.

That is looking a little broken there. My best guess is that a Javascript error is stopping the code for the TinyMCE editor from executing properly. Would it be possible for you to check if you’re getting any JS errors when opening a TinyMCE widget.

Hi I just tried the debug console, I’m using chrome, and it didn’t show any errors just a warning about a deprecated event handler and a deprecated function… Can’t remember which ones they were… I can repeat the test if you think it’s relevant?

Can you see if you’re getting the same issue in the latest version – 1.4.4?

so far so good but won’t need to use it in anger until next week.

i did get this error once but after refreshing the page all seems to be working!

Fatal error: Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array in D:\Domains\clearprop.co.uk\www\wp-content\plugins\siteorigin-panels\inc\copy.php on line 38

and I now see this error in the JS console it may have been there before but I don’t normally use smilies!

    Hi Adrian

Thanks for that error message! I think that’s the issue that was causing save problems for a few people. I’ll fix that up in the next update. Pure gold.

As for the TinyMCE issue, can you both confirm which version of Black Studio TinyMCE you’re using? Page Builder 1.4.4+ works best with the latest version – 1.3.0

    Hi
thanks for looking in to these issues.

Black Studio TinyMCE Widget Version 1.3.0
Page Builder by SiteOrigin Version 1.4.4
    Wordpress 3.8.1

I also use Jetpack 2.8 incase its relevant!

Just a quick update, today I have done quite a bit of editing and a new post all using your plugin to control the layout.

I’m please to report a 100% error free experience! 🙂

    THANK YOU Greg.

what did you change Adrian, i get a similar issue

problem went away for me once update Version 1.4.6 was out (may have been fixed in Version 1.4.5 but not tested).

    Greg!

Hope all is well, big fan and avid user of pagebuilder and purchaser of the vantage premium theme.

This issue that Adrian posted is still ongoing for me. In particular if I type about 2 sentences of text the TinyMCE text saves and is not an issue. However when i add images in TinyMCE and text with different details in the box…the dissapearing of content still occurs.
