The problem: My TinyMCE editor either (1) hangs when trying to add a new post or (2) will load old posts but the text of which cannot be seen and the HTML toggle is stuck.
After extensive research, I have tried most (possibly all) of the remedies stated on the forum (e.g., disabling plugins, deleting and re-uploading wp-includes and wp-admin folders, trying using TinyMCE Advanced, tried using a corrective plugin etc.)
Although I haven't found a solution I have found three types of plugins that cause Tiny MCE to hang: Jet Pack Stats (Lite), any caching plugins and any plugins that perform GZIP.
One more thing: I noticed in the folder wp-includes/js/tinymce there is an unzipped package called wp-tinymce.js.gz . Should this be unzipped? (NB. I tried unzipping it but it didn't help my "hanging" problem).
Would any kind soul be able to give any guidance so that I might be able to use TinyMCE with the three very useful types of plugin listed above?
